Play Responsibly
At Ontario Casino, gambling should stay fun, affordable and fully under your control. This page shows the free support available to you, the way limit changes work and every tool you can switch on from your account.
A. Our commitment
Player wellbeing comes before revenue, on every game and every offer.
Every game we offer, whether Popular slots, Live Casino tables or Jackpots, is paid entertainment. We do not present gambling as a way to earn income, and we never encourage anyone to chase losses. Our team is trained to spot behaviour that may signal harm, such as deposits that keep rising, longer sessions or repeatedly cancelled withdrawals. If we notice these signs, we may email you to see how you are doing and highlight the tools described on this page.
The same principle shapes how we market to you. If an account is self-excluded, or a cooling-off is still running on it, we send it no Promotions, no Ontario Rewards messages and no VIP invitations. Anyone who has chosen to step back will never be offered incentives by us.
B. Free, confidential support
Independent organizations offer help at no cost, whether the concern is about you or someone close to you.
Talking to a person outside the casino often makes a real difference. The organizations below operate independently of Ontario Casino, and whatever you share with them is kept confidential:
- ConnexOntario: information and referral to gambling support and treatment services across Ontario.
- Kindbridge Behavioral Health: behavioural health care with a focus on gambling concerns.
- Gambling Therapy: online support and guidance for people affected by gambling, including family members.
- Gamban / GamBlock: programs you install on your own devices to stop them reaching gambling websites and apps.
You can reach any of these services without closing your account and without explaining anything to us.
C. Protecting minors
Ontario Casino is for adults aged 19+ only.
Holding an account is restricted to those who are 19 or older, and your age is checked before any first deposit is processed. Where a minor is found to have used an account, it is closed and all of its transactions are cancelled. The Age Policy describes how we confirm age and offers practical steps that parents or guardians can take at home so children stay off gambling sites.
D. Self-assessment
A short quiz helps you see your play clearly.
Inside your account you will find a self-assessment quiz. Its plain questions ask about what you spend, how long you play and how gambling touches other parts of your life. Be honest: your responses are kept private and never feed into marketing. Depending on your answers, the quiz points you to a next step, such as putting a limit in place, reaching one of the support organizations listed above or taking a cooling-off break. You can retake it whenever you wish.
E. How limit changes take effect
Decreases to a limit apply at once; increases take 24 hours.
A reduced limit is active once saved, so protection begins immediately. Raising a limit or removing one works differently: the new setting waits 24 hours before it comes into force, giving you a chance to change your mind before your play is affected. During that 24-hour window, you may cancel the request and stay on your current limit.
F. Tools you control
Every tool below is available from your account settings, and you choose how to use it.
Limits on deposits, wagers and stakes
Choose a time period and set a deposit limit: it fixes the maximum you may move into your account during that period. Over that same period, a wager limit caps the total value of all your bets put together. A stake limit keeps every single bet at or under the figure you choose. Use one, two or all three, and the timing rules in section E apply to each.
Reality checks and session alerts
Reality checks interrupt your session at intervals you set and display your playing time together with the session's wins and losses. From that reminder you can continue, view your history or sign out. Session alerts can also warn you as you approach a time limit you have set.
Take a break (cooling-off)
During a cooling-off break, your account is locked for a length of your choosing, between 24 hours and six weeks. While it lasts, deposits and betting are unavailable and no promotional messages are sent to you. Your money stays safe, and once the break begins it cannot be cut short: it continues until the chosen period ends.
Self-exclusion
Self-exclusion goes further than cooling off: the break is longer and the restrictions are tighter. During it you cannot log in to play, make deposits or receive offers, and we work to stop new accounts from being set up under your name. We strongly recommend pairing it with blocking software such as Gamban / GamBlock.
Account closure
If you simply want to stop playing at Ontario Casino, you can request that your account be closed. Once verification has been completed, any withdrawable balance is paid out to you. Let us know if gambling harm is behind your decision, and we will also apply self-exclusion and end all offers to you.
Confirming who and where you are
You cannot make a deposit until we have verified your identity, confirmed you are 19+ and checked that your location is one we accept players from. These checks protect you, prevent underage play and help ensure that an account is used only by its owner.
