Age Policy
Only adults aged 19+ may use Ontario Casino, and no one younger is allowed to open an account or play. This page describes how we confirm age, how families can keep gambling out of reach of young people at home, and what happens when we identify a minor.
A. Adults aged 19+ only
Registration, deposits and play at Ontario Casino are not permitted for anyone under 19.
Under Ontario rules, nobody younger than 19 may play. The age limit applies across the whole site, including Popular slots, Live Casino, Jackpots, Promotions and the Ontario Rewards area. Opening an account with false age information is a breach of our Terms of Use, and any winnings on an account that a minor opened are never kept.
We also design our marketing with young people in mind. We do not use content, characters or themes aimed at minors, and our offers are only shown to adults who have registered and logged in.
B. Shared devices and protecting minors
Simple everyday habits help keep your account and our games away from young people.
At home, phones, tablets and laptops are often shared between family members. If an underage person could access your device, please follow these steps:
- Always log out of Ontario Casino when you finish playing.
- Turn off password saving for our site in your browser and on your device.
- Secure your device using face recognition, a fingerprint, a pattern or a PIN.
- Never share your login details or let anyone else place bets on your account.
- Keep cards, e-wallet apps such as MuchBetter and banking apps protected with their own passcodes.
- On a shared family tablet or computer, set each child up with a separate profile.
Account holders carry full responsibility for all activity on their accounts. Should you think a minor has got into yours, tell us at once and we will lock it down.
C. Parental controls and filtering tools
Blocking software and built-in device controls can stop gambling sites loading on family devices.
Simple tools give parents and guardians strong protection, and they take little effort to set up:
- Gamban / GamBlock: dedicated programs that block gambling sites and applications on every device they are installed on.
- Device controls: parental settings built into most phones, tablets and computers can limit apps, purchases and online content by age.
- Home network filters: many internet routers and providers offer content filtering that applies to every device on your home connection.
- App store settings: age restrictions on app stores can stop gambling apps being downloaded.
Open conversations with young people about money and gambling also help. If gambling is affecting your family, you can get free, confidential support from ConnexOntario, Kindbridge Behavioral Health and Gambling Therapy. See our Play Responsibly page for more.
D. If a minor is found
We act immediately and close any account used by someone under 19.
If our checks, a report from a family member or any other source reveals that an account is owned or used by someone under 19, we will:
- suspend the account at once so no further deposits or bets can be made;
- carry out an investigation, which may include requesting identity documents from the account holder;
- close the account permanently if underage use is confirmed;
- void all bets and remove any winnings and bonuses;
- return deposits to the payment method originally used, where possible;
- block the personal and payment details involved so they cannot be used to open another account.
Where an adult account holder knowingly lets someone under age use their account, we may close it as well, and we take any further steps required under Canadian law.
E. How we check age
We verify age before any deposit is accepted, and we may repeat this check at any time.
To register, we need three details from you: when you were born, the full legal name you use and your present home address. A secure electronic check matches these with trusted data sources. Should that check fail to show you are at least 19, we will ask for a photo ID from a government body, with your birth date clearly visible. Each time you deposit, geolocation first checks that gambling is legal at your current location.
Deposits stay unavailable until we have confirmed your age. We may carry out more age checks at a later stage, such as when you change account details, add a new payment method, or when account activity suggests another person may be using it. Our Identity Checks page sets out the complete verification process, and our Personal Data Policy describes the safeguards we apply to the information you submit.
F. Contact
Tell us about any concern over underage play, and we will act on it quickly.
Email help@ontariocasino.app if you think a minor is gambling at Ontario Casino, or if you are a parent or guardian with a question about this policy. Include anything that helps us find the right account, such as its username or the email address used to register it. Every report is kept confidential and dealt with as a priority.
